Summer is always the best time to watch a movie. There are so many new movies out and there is always such a variety of options at the theater. You can choose from a great comedy, a chick flick or a regular action movie depending on what mood you are. There is always such a wide selection and almost all the movies on are of the highest rating. However, I would say that one of the best movies that you have to see this weekend is The Help. This is a movie that opened very discretely in a few theaters and did not receive immediate attention. It was not hyped up like some other summer blockbusters have been and did not receive the same media attention either. However, that does not mean it is any less of a classic.

The Help is a story of a young writer living in the mid west of the United States. She is living in a time when blacks were treated as second class citizens and were not allowed the same right as white people. The movie portrays how the rich white families would treat their black slaves and how they truly felt they were second class citizens. The protagonist takes it upon herself to show the world what is happening in her state and how backwards they are. With the help of her editor in New York and a couple of maids she is close with, she manages to share their story with the world and ensures that her little town will never be the same again.

If you are looking for a few quick laughs, this may not be the movie for you, but if you want something truly deep and meaningful then you cannot go wrong with The Help. There is plenty to smile, cry, laugh and be shocked about as you watch this movie.
